Introducing our Director of Instruction
Background:
Jacob has been in the golf industry and teaching golf for over 20 years. He is PGA class A certified, and he has spent the last 18 years teaching golf in Southern California. His father has been the head pro at Cordova Golf Course for over 30 years and so, raised Jacob to play and teach golf since he was just 7 years old.
Jacob’s passion is teaching and coaching golf. “It brings me real joy to see my students not only improve their game, lower their scores and win tournaments, but also to help them really ENJOY the game of golf.” He is very passionate about helping young golfers. He has developed a junior program that is designed to progress each junior through 3 levels that take them through beginning learning stages, playing the course and ultimately through to high level competition. Jacob is the PGA North State Chapter Junior Golf Co-Chairman.
His family is a great encouragement to him. He has been married since 1998 and has three great kids. You might see his 3 little ones joining in on some of the group lessons.
Teaching Philosophy:
My goal when I teach, is to create for each student a simple, natural and repeatable swing motion that coincides with each individual players physical and psychological limitations. I teach with unique and relevant concepts of the swing along with encouraging feedback to help create a fun and comfortable learning environment.
Lessons:
Jacob offers a range of opportunities to improve your game of golf. From the very beginner to the aspiring tour pro. Jacob offers weekly group lessons to get you familiar with golf and start getting you on the right path to practicing the right things along with proper balance and alignment. He also offers 3-day clinics that will take you deeper into a certain area of the game, these are offered monthly. Private lessons will get you a one-on-one personal look deeper into your unique swing and receive customized practice steps to improving it. Thirdly, taking all that you’ve learned to the course.
